Are you in burnout?
Disillusioned, helpless, constant stress and exhausted are symptoms of burnout. In addition problems seem insurmountable when you’re burned out from stress, as a result everything looks bleak, and it’s difficult to muster up the energy to care—let alone do something about your situation, therefore damaging your work career and home life.
As a result the unhappiness and detachment that it causes can threaten your job, your relationships, and your health. But burnout can be overcome since there are plenty of things you can do to regain your balance and start to feel hopeful and positive again.
First of all burnout is a state of emotional, mental, and physical exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. It occurs when you feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands. Consequently, as the stress continues, you begin to lose the interest or motivation that led you to take on a certain role in the first place.
Most of us have days when we feel bored, overloaded, or unappreciated, when dragging ourselves out of bed requires a lot of determination but if you feel like this most of the time, however, you may be in burnout, because it reduces productivity and saps your energy, leaving you feeling increasingly helpless, hopeless, cynical, and resentful: hence you may feel like you have nothing more to give or to hope.
As a result, the negative effects of burnout spill over into every area of life—including your home, work, and social life; especially relevant burnout can also cause long-term changes to your body that make you vulnerable to illnesses like colds and flu so your immune system will be damage. Because of its many consequences, it’s important to deal with burnout right away.
